Dr. Murat Canpolat
Founder, President, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman
Dr. Canpolat has seven years experience on research and
development of light scattering, fluorescence imaging, and
non-invasive cancer diagnosis. He has worked at Boston
University, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and medical device
companies, as a research scientist. He received his Ph.D. degree
in Physics from Istanbul Technical University, Turkey in 1996.
Dr. Canpolat is the inventor of Elastic Light Scattering
Spectroscopy and directs the strategic planning and presides as
the president of the Company.
Dr. Michael J. Dauphinée
Medical Director
Dr. Dauphinée is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame
and has worked in medical schools in San Francisco and San
Antonio, for over 20 years. He also worked for Johnson &
Johnson as the Director of Autoimmunity/Immunoregulation and
Beckman-Coulter in Immunology Research & Technology prior to
being the Director of the Rumbaugh-Goodwin Institute for Cancer
Research for the past 7 years. Dr. Dauphinée brings his
experience in academics, industry and non-profits to SpectraPath
Technologies in order to bring to market the CancerScanner™ in
as short a time as possible. Dr. Dauphinée's research programs
have included study and treatment of breast, prostate and colon
cancer and preparation of clinical and research biologics for
diagnosis and therapy. He has also worked on wound healing and
neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis and ALS. He has
helped raise $12 million in grant funding in a variety of
research projects. Dr. Dauphinée is a reviewer for Journal of
Immunology, Cellular Immunology, Arthritis and Rheumatism, the
Journal of Rheumatology, Autoimmunity, and Journal of
Autoimmunity. He is a member of American Association of
Immunologists, American Rheumatism Association and the American
Association of Cancer Research and has served on the Board of
Trustees for Goodwin Biotechnology and well as the Scientific
Advisory Board for Cygene.
Dr. James Kumi-Diaka
Principal Investigator of Animal Studies, Medical Advisor
Dr. Kumi-Diaka is presently Associate Professor for
Biological Science at Florida Atlantic University. His teaching
areas include the Biology of Cancer; Immunology and
Morphogenesis while his research interests are oncopathology,
prostate & testicular cancer chemotherapeutics as well as
reproductive pathophysiology. Previous positions have included
Adjunct Professor at Broward Community College, Associate
professor, Department of Medical Sciences at University of
Wisconsin, Consultant for Intervet Pharmaceuticals and Associate
Professor, Dept Surgery & Medicine at AB University at Zaria
(in affiliation with Kansas State University and the University
of Redding, England). He has published 49 scientific papers on a
variety of medical research topics.
Dr M.T. Madakbas
Vice President International Business Development
Dr. Madabas graduated from the University of Uppsala,
Uppsala Sweden where he received his BSc/PhD specializing in
radiation detectors/spectroscopy and microelectronic design and
fabrication. He was Associate Professor for semiconductor
physics at Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara
Turkey and at Brookhaven National Laboratories in New York. Dr.
Madakbas was Founder/Cofounder and Director of
the following companies:

Mr. Stephen M. Dunn
Outside Director, Business Development, Board Member
Mr. Dunn serves as Director of Life Sciences for Dawson James
Securities where he performs investment banking and
institutional research for both public and private companies in
the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
Previous to Dawson James, he served as Director of Life Sciences
for Cabot Adams LLC and held management positions in Business
Development, Finance and Operations having worked in over 25
countries in North America, Europe and the Far East with Fortune
500 biomedical companies including Beckman Coulter, Cordis
(Johnson & Johnson), St. Jude Medical and Telectronics.
Having over 20 years within the global biomedical industry, Mr.
Dunn has negotiated numerous intellectual property licenses,
product development agreements, venture funding, M&A and
joint ventures with companies such as GlaxoSmithKline,
Pharmacia, Novartis, Bayer, Schering AG, Wyeth, Eli Lilly,
Pfizer, Genzyme, Martek Biosciences, Fisher Life Sciences,
Becton Dickinson, Idec Pharmaceuticals, Ortho Diagnostics,
DakoCytomation, Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories, the
Mayo Clinic Foundation and the Dana-Farber Institute along with
dozens of smaller public and private companies throughout the
world.
